Background:
Sesto Vecchi was Post Commander in 1948-49, when the Post was at its current location but still the McKecknie mansion. Sesto was very involved in the operation of our Post and served many years on the Bingo Committee. The Bingo Committee paid many of our Legion bills and funds paid off the mortgage on our newly built home. The McKecknie building burned in 1959 and was rebuilt in 1960. Outside the Legion, Sesto was very well known and was a well liked barber in the city of Canandaigua.
